Gary Neville spoke about Manchester United’s championship chances. The former Manchester United captain does not expect a title from the team yet.

Former Manchester United player Gary Neville has spoken about the Red Devils’ chances of winning the English Premier League. The 45-year-old Englishman, who was also the captain of Manchester at the time, believes that winning the title from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team is not expected in the near future.

“The only thing I can say for sure – Manchester United will be champions again. It may not happen this or next season, but when it does, it will be cool. The longer the expectations are delayed, the stronger the feelings of triumph.

I am not talking as a United fan, and I am not saying that we should definitely win the championship this season. Yes, I would like that, but you usually feel when the time comes, and now there is no such feeling.

Maybe United will become champions when Klopp and Guardiola leave Liverpool and City. Hopefully, this will happen in a few years. It will be a chance because they are great coaches who have created brilliant teams. But they will go away in one, two, or three years. And that will be the moment when United will be able to return. “I’m sure Chelsea are thinking the same,” Neville told British media.

Gary Neville defended the honor of Manchester United from 1992-2011 and won the English Premier League 8 times and the Champions League 2 times with the club. The former defender has played 85 games for the England national team.

Manchester United will play Burnley away in the first round of the 2020/21 Premier League on September 12, but the match has been postponed. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will start the championship in the second round with a Crystal Palace meeting, which will be held at home on September 19.
