The Dutch International moves to the Parc des Princes with their Anfield contract expiring at the end of the month.

Georginio has made a commitment

Georginio Wijnaldum is committed to a three-year deal at PSG ahead of his departure from Liverpool. Georginio said his last goodbyes to Liverpool supporters after a 2-0 win against Crystal Palace on the final day of the 2020-21 Premier League season, failing to reach an agreement with the club on a contract extension. Barcelona was initially touted as the most likely next destination for the 30-year-old, but Paris Saint-Germain ended up winning the race to sign him up for a free transfer and the recruitment move would be completed at the end of the month.

A little about Georginio Wijnaldum

Georginio Wijnaldum joins Paris Saint-Germain’s star-studded roster of Mbappe, Angel Di Maria and Neymar and reports that head coach Pochettino convinced him to join, highlighting the key role he wants to play on the squad next season. The Dutch International will add valuable experience to Mauricio’s ranks as it strives to end their quest for the first-ever Champions League crown in the restoration of the Ligue 1 title. Paris Saint-Germain already has Idrissa Gueye, Marco Verratti, Ander Herrera and Leandro Paredes in the middle of the park, but as a more traditional boxer, midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is able to add a new dimension to the starting XI.

Georginio Wijnaldum leaves Liverpool with their place in the club’s modern folklore safe, helping them once again become the main force at the top of both English and European football over the past five years. The Reds thwarted the Dutchman from Newcastle in 2016, and he made 237 appearances for the Klopp’s side in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and laying on 16 assists. Georginio has won four major trophies during his time at Anfield, including the Champions League and the Premier League – with the 2019-20 title, the first Liverpool top-flight crown in 30 years.
