Gianluca Vialli is currently in charge of an investment company that is helping takeover bids.
What did Gianluca Vialli say?
The former Blues player and manager will help a global consortium bid on the club as Abramovich looks to sell him as soon as possible. Gianluca is currently the head of an investment firm called Tifosy Capital & Advisory that helps football takeovers. His group, which also includes well-known real estate developer Nick Candy, will aim to bid in the region of £2.5bn, although it is not yet clear if they can secure that funding.
Gianluca Vialli said he is proud and feels very privileged to support Mr Nick Candy’s bid to buy Chelsea Football Club. According to Vialli he has met with Candy several times over the past few weeks and he fully supports his vision and commitment to make Chelsea the most globally recognized and supported club in the world and to maintain the current success on the pitch.
They share the same view that if the bid is successful, they will try to be the best custodian of the club possible, knowing that it is important that the interests of the supporter be at the center of any owner’s priorities. Vialli considers Mr. Nick an ambitious yet realistic and very successful entrepreneur and Vialli was impressed by his enthusiasm and desire to start a new era for the club that they both love so much. Gianluca is delighted that the English businessman is leading a consortium that will bring a diverse range of experiences and expertise to the table, with the aim of making Chelsea a better club for the fans.
A little about the topic
A few niggles appeared before the March 18 deadline. They include a consortium led by the owners of the Chicago Cubs; Mohamed Alkhereiji, head of the Saudi media; and Turkish businessman Muhsin Bayrak. MMA star Conor McGregor was another candidate to throw his hat into the ring. Nick Candy was considered the nominal favorite to have his bid accepted, but he had yet to find an investment company partner before teaming up with Gianluca Vialli.
