Buffon feels good

Widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, the 43-year-old is still not ready to hang up and will play the 2021-22 season in Serie B. Gianluigi Buffon has signed a two-year deal with his old club, but there is a clause in his contract that could see him leave after just one season, if he so chooses. The Italian icon was recently questioned by journalists about his future during the launch of the Gianluigi Buffon summer camp at his goalkeeping academy in Marina di Pietrasanta. Buffon said he decided to keep playing because he still feels good.

A little about Gianluigi Buffon

Having played a supporting role for Wojciech Szczesny in the last term, Buffon made just 14 appearances in all competitions for the old lady. However, he kept six blank slates when he took the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa winners’ medals to add to his already incredible CV. Of course, his status as a legend in Turin has long been assured, having won nine Serie A titles in 656 appearances in his first match against the Bianconeri. Only Alessandro Del Piero has scored more appearances for Juventus than World Cup winner Gianluigi Buffon, who also made his way to three Champions League finals.

Senior debut for Parma Gianluigi Buffon took place at the age of 17 in November 1995, taking part in 220 games before Juventus watched for his services for a record at that time, see € 52 million in 2001. Having previously assisted the club in Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana and the UEFA Cup glory, Gianluigi Buffon is now tasked with helping Parma reclaim a Serie A promotion after their 20th place finish in the final term that saw them retire.
