Glenn Maxwell Shares Updates On His Injury
It’s been quite some time since we have seen Glenn Maxwell playing cricket on field. He is currently in rehabilitation state as he is recovering from a horrible career threatening injury.
Earlier Glenn Maxwell said that the horrific leg break he sustained at a friend’s 50th birthday party last month may have cost him his foot and consequently his cricketing career.
Even though he hasn’t been with any team but he has been constantly invested in cricket. In ongoing Big Bash League, often we have seen him in the Melbourne Stars dugout cheering for his team.
Maxwell has also shown his commentry skills in a number of matches and fans have enjoyed his high level game understanding. He admitted that he can’t do commentry during Melbourne Stars’ match because he will be too emotional to speak rationally about the game.
His home team Melbourne Stars has struggled this season, winning only 3 our of 9 matches. They have throughly missed the presence of Glenn Maxwell. The other superstar Marcus Stoinis haa not been playing regularly for the team. So the whole season has been off colour for them but there is a good news in midst of all this.
Sitting behind the boundary line, Glenn Maxwell was asked by 7Cricket host about his recovery process. His answer was good for cricket fans all around the world.
Here’s What Maxwell Said:
Maxwell said: “I got back in the nets yesterday, which was quite exciting. It was a bit of a rude shock to a few of the physios when I was face to face on the dog stick and one of the spinners. They all got to be excited.”
“I tried quite a few shots and do a few things, but had a bit of a bowl as well, so bowled a couple of overs and off one step and it was really exciting. Probably the first time in a long time that I’ve been excited for training, taking me kitbag into the change.”
With that being said, it is likely that his first international series will be against India. He will be part of Australian ODI team, they will be in India to play 3 ODI matches followed by a four match test series.
