Gloucestershire defeated Kent by 6 wickets in a low scoring and one sided encounter. After winning the toss, Gloucestershire opted to bowl which turned out to be a excellent descision. Kent stumbled and stunned, never really got get going. As it appeared, it wasn’t their day in the game at all.
Credit goes to Gloucestershire bowling attack. They were right on the money since the first ball to the last. Especially, the left arm pacer David Payne who bagged four wickets only conceded 15 runs in four overs. A truly match winning perfomance and that’s why he deserved his international call for series against Nederlands and he sealed his place.
Kent somehow reached 114 which was apparently proved less and less as every over passed. Gloucestershire chased down the score in 14.3 overs, with New Zealander Glenn Philips hitting 31 balls 50 and Jack Taylor smashing 21 balls 31. Both shared 70 runs partnership after Gloucestershire fell four for 46 in eighth over.
