Match in Tbilisi, Georgia was very interesting because of many facts. D group winners had a final match to get access to Euro 2020. At the end of the match legendary Goran Pandev became the star and took his national team to Euro 2020.
1st half of the match
North Macedonia and Georgia played two matches right before this final game. They met in September and October too. Both matches ended in a draw. Goran Pandev was the main striker of North Macedonia and the whole squad had hope in him. Georgians were ready for this match too. Unfortunately to fans, main winger of the team, Kvaratskhelia, tested positive for covid-19 right before the match. In the absence of Kvaratskhelia and Chakvetadze, North Macedonia was the main favorite.
Both teams started the match in a slow manner. They have not tried to attack aggressively as it was the final game and nobody wanted to make a mistake. In the first half, Georgian footballers had 3 real chances. In those moments, Georgians could open the score-line but they failed.
2nd half of the match
North Macedonia started the second half with sharp attacks. In just 10 minutes after the start of a second half, Macedonians scored a goal. Goran Pandev received a pass from Nestorovski and scored an easy goal. It was not hard for Pandev to convert that moment into the goal. Georgian players could not create a real chance in the second half, so Goran took his national team to Euro 2020.
