Former England Cricketer Graham Thorpe Passes Away at 55

The cricketing world is in mourning following the tragic passing of former England and Surrey cricketer Graham Thorpe at the age of 55 on August 5. The news was confirmed by Surrey Cricket and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in an official statement.

A Legendary Career

Thorpe, a left-handed batter, represented England in 100 Tests and 82 ODIs during his 13-year international career. He made an impressive debut in 1993 with a century in the Ashes series against Australia at Trent Bridge.

Throughout his career, Thorpe scored 16 Test centuries and accumulated 6,744 runs, while also scoring 2,380 runs in ODIs. At the county level, he was a standout performer for Surrey, scoring 21,937 runs in First Class cricket with 49 centuries at an average of 45.04.
