Mason Greenwood’s bail has been extended until Saturday, April 30th, with a hearing scheduled for June.

In late January, the Manchester United forward was arrested on suspicion of rape and violence on a lady, and authorities were given more time to question him.

Greater Manchester Police said that he was detained again on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill. Greenwood was released on bond three days after his arrest.

The England international has been suspended by the Red Devils while the investigation is ongoing. Greenwood’s bail was set to run out on April 30th, however, GMP has announced that it has been extended. A GMP statement stated, “Update on rape inquiry after social media photographs and videos were uploaded online in January.”

“We are continuing to look into a report of online social media photographs and videos posted by a lady reporting incidence of physical violence that was made to us on Sunday, January 30.”

A 20-year-old male who was detained that day on allegations of rape, assault, and threats to kill a lady is still out on bond. A court application has been filed to extend his bail beyond Saturday, April 30th, but the hearing is not scheduled until mid-June.” The suspect will be released on conditional bail until the court date. The GMP press office will release any updates on the outcome of that hearing – or any news before then – in a proactive manner.”

Following his incarceration, Greenwood was removed from EA Sport’s football video game FIFA 22. Cadbury, one of Man United’s partners, has also indicated that it will not collaborate with the forward in any marketing efforts.
