Cristiano Ronaldo will not play in Manchester United’s Premier League match against Liverpool tonight due to the death of his newborn baby son.
Ralf Rangnick’s team go to Anfield to play their opponents, but United have confirmed that the Portugal international will be unavailable following his tragic news. ‘Family is more important than everything, and Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this tremendously difficult time,’ the club said in a statement on their official website. The 37-year-old United star announced in October 2021 that he and his 28-year-old partner Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins.
