Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has urged his side to score goals when they face AC Milan next week. He admits it is going to be tough.
Manchester United conceded in the last minute, throw away Amad Diallo’s narrow lead. AC Milan held the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw thanks to Simon Kjaer’s 92nd Minute goal.
Diallo netted his first goal at the club that put the host ahead but Kjaer’s last-minute header leveled things. The Sensational Teenager impressed again after making an impressive 12 minutes European debut against Real Sociedad.
“It makes it harder but it makes us have to go down there and score goals and win the game,” the United coach said.
“That might suit us. It probably will suit us. We’re a team that’s better when we go forward, more direct,” he stated.
“Today we didn’t win the ball well enough or in good enough positions to find the counter-attacks,” he added.
Solskjaer admits his side’s poor performances and slams the last-minute goal. He felt United should have defended better for the Milan equalizer.
“We were too slow, we didn’t move our feet well enough in our half and they played well. To be fair, as well,” Solskjaer admits.
“We dropped too deep in the box so the structure, there’s a yard or two deep from everyone, really,” he said.
He continued, “Of course you’re always disappointed when you concede a goal in that manner.
“Simon Kjaer is obviously a good player, he makes a good run, he’s strong and his marker gets blocked off, so he gets in front of him.
Disappointed Solskjaer said, “Disappointed but, then again that can happen. I’ve been part of a team that’s scored in injury time in Europe myself on a set-play.
“We know we have to travel there and score a goal and win the game, or score two and draw.”
