Fans applauded the gesture of former India captain Virat Kohli handing over an autographed jersey to Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf, with a video of the moment posted by the Indian cricket board after their victory over arch-rivals in the Asia Cup.

Virat can be seen chatting with the 28-year-old right-arm pacer after India’s five-wicket win against Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium, before the charismatic cricketer signs up and gifts the pacer a jersey.

BCCI posted a video of the moment on social media and tweeted, “Match may end but moments like this shine. A heartfelt gesture by @imVkohli handing over a signed jersey to Pakistan’s Haris Rauf after the #INDvPAK game.”

Thousands of fans took to Twitter to appreciate Kohli’s gesture. “Pleasant moments,” tweeted one fan, while another wrote, “Things we love to see.”

“That’s why, he is the king. Great cricketer and great man @imVkohli,” tweeted another fan.

Kohli, while not impressive in his 147-run chase in the opening match of the Asia Cup against Pakistan, played a remarkable 35 as India beat the rivals with just two balls to spare.

Haris Rauf did not make much of an impact in the game, scoring 13 not out at the back-end and conceding 35 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket, at an economy of 8.75. The aesthetic and cordial nature of the players towards each other has always been an inspiration to the cricket lovers.

In the Asia Cup 2022, Pakistan and India can face each other again for 2 times. After Sunday’s clash at the back, on October 4, both can once again come in front of each other.
