England 4-0 Bulgaria
Gareth Southgate met with journalists before the match. England coach talked about the chances to secure the number one spot in Group A. Experts think that England has very weak opponents, and the results speak louder.
England’s most prominent opponent in Group is indeed the Czech Republic, but Harry Kane and co demolished Czech players in the 5-0 game during the first round. As of now, England is an absolute favorite for taking the first spot in Group A.
1st half of the match
Gareth Southgate gave a chance to 4-3-3 tactics. Harry Kane was the captain, and he was the main attacker with Sterling and Rashford. Manchester United forward had an average game, but his teammates did an excellent job. Especially Kane’s and Sterling’s due is correctly playing in attack, and actually, they have made four goals without the help from others.
First half was very dull as England’s had the ball most of the time but could not make a shot on target. Bulgarian defense was playing correctly, and five defenders were hard to break. The only time Bulgarians made a mistake in the penalty area finished with a goal from Harry Kane. Sterling used the error of the opponent and gave the ball to Harry right away. Kane just tapped the ball to put it in the net.
2nd half of the match
Bulgaria started 2nd half very actively. Bulgarians had a real moment to score a goal in the 47th minute. The left-wing of England’s defense mistakenly gave a chance to Bulgaria, but Pickford saved the team. On the 48th minute, Rashford passed through few defenders and got a penalty for the team. Harry Kane used this advantage and scored a goal. After 6 minutes, Harry Kane dribbled through few defenders and gave a pass to Sterling who scored the goal.
On 73rd minute, Harry Kane scored another goal and England won 4-0. Harry Kane was the man of the match as he scored a hat-trick and gave an assist.
England takes the first position in the Group
After the match, Gareth Southgate was happy with results. England coach mentioned Harry’s ideal game in attack and his duo with Sterling. Southgate mentioned Sancho’s good play and said that he would give more time to youngster winger.
