English footballer Harvey Elliott has backed the world-class Portuguese player to make an instant impact when he moves to the Reds this summer. Fabio Carvalho will officially move to Anfield on 1 July when his Fulham contract expires, with Liverpool agreeing an £8m deal with Cottagers for the U21 player. It has been suggested that the teenager is seen as one to patiently nurture the future, but Harvey believes he could be an asset to the first team right away.
Harvey is well aware of Fabio’s talents, having played alongside the forward in the Cottagers youth team before he joined Klopp’s own team three years ago. The player is looking forward to reuniting with his former teammate and believes he will hit the ground running on Merseyside despite only having four PL appearances in his career so far. Fabio arrives at Anfield after a breakout season at Fulham where he scored 11 goals in 38 games in all competitions to help the Cottagers secure the league title.
