English midfielder Harvey Elliott gave the Reds another fear from injury, but the player was keen to ease any concerns about his fitness.

A little about the topic

Physical failure has been an unfortunate topic for Liverpool in the 2022-23 campaign, which currently excludes key frontmen Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. There were fears that Harvey was heading to the treatment table when forced on a friendly outing against Lyon, but England under-21s insist the teen midfielder was just being cautious and would be ready to face the Rossoneri on Friday and return to competitive action against the Citizens in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on December 22.

What did Harvey Elliott say?

The teenage English midfielder has told the Reds’ official website about the substitution against Lyon and why his general fitness shouldn’t be a concern that people who know him is one of them – he never wants to go to a football match. According to Harvey Elliott, this is the game he loves and the game he wants to play for the rest of his life. But sometimes they just need to have that mature head and think about the bigger picture. That’s what Harvey did, obviously, and the coaching staff.

Elliott rapped a bit on his surgery and he said it was scary because it was the first time he had a stroke like this where he didn’t feel well, but it was just a precaution. Harvey Elliott says that luckily he is doing well and has returned to training in the last couple of days and getting ready to play.
