Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans in this season of the IPL and won their fifth IPL title. This achievement made both fans and the franchise extremely happy. But during the season, there were rumours of estrangement between skipper MS Dhoni and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja after the latter said in a post-match conference that the fans only wait for him to get out. He also posted a picture of himself receiving the valuable asset of the match award and wrote that Upstox knows but some fans don’t. Before this, he also posted a cryptic tweet that read, ” Karma will get back at you, sooner or later, but it will.

Now, CSK’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan clarified the alleged rift between the two and said everything was fine in the camp, but he added that “Jadeja might have felt hurt by the fans because they cheered every time after his dismissal as they knew Dhoni would be arriving on the field now. He bowled brilliantly, and while batting, whenever he went out there, only 5–10 balls were left, and in these kinds of situations, it may or may not click sometimes, and he also knew that Dhoni was coming to bat next, and he would get only 2-3 balls that time, and the crowd used to welcome Dhoni with chants. He might have felt hurt, but he didn’t complain, although he did put a tweet.

He further said that it is all a part of the game, and after the final game, people saw some videos online and assumed that I was calming Jadeja down, but that was not the case. I was just talking to him about the match, and there were no other discussions. In the team environment, everyone knows what happens in the dressing room , outside, no one knows, we have no problems. Jadeja always had high regard for Dhoni. He even dedicated his final inning to Dhoni.

After the match, he even said, “I want to dedicate this win to a special member of our team, MS Dhoni. It feels amazing to win our fifth title in front of my home crowd”. Right after Jadeja hit a four for the win, he went to CSK’s dugout, and a beautiful moment was witnessed as Dhoni lifted Jadeja into his arms and a glimpse of little tears were seen on his face.
