After CSK qualified for the finals, Bravo on Star Sports said, ” He will 100 percent return next year, especially with the impact player rule. He can keep prolonging his career. Our team bats really deep, and guys like Rahane and Shivam Dube make a huge difference, so you don’t require much from MS’s bat, but his ability to keep the team calm under pressure is unmatched.

In the post-match presentation, when Harsha Bhogle asked Dhoni about retirement plans, MSD again gave an interesting statement and said, “I have eight to nine months to decide , the auction will be around December, so why should I have the headache now? I have a lot of time to decide. But I will always be there for Chennai Super Kings, whether playing or sitting somewhere outside”.
