Heinrich Klaasen is in form of his life. He is proving to be one of the most destructive and game changing middle order batsman in last 10-12 months. On Sunday, Klaasen played innings of his life at SuperSport Park, Centurion.

A few days ago, he did something similar trying to win the match out of nowhere and he nearly did so if there wasn’t Jofra Archer to stop him. He scored 62 balls 80 against England in the third ODI at Kimberley.

Now against Pretoria Capitals in a must win match, Klaasen scored 44 balls 102 with 6 maximus and 10 boundaries. As we saw last night, this guy can play all around the corners. Standing upright in his base, Klaasen can swing in every corner with immense power and deft touch.

Some of the shots he play seem outrageous, just yesterday, he clubbed a six from back foot over mid wicket to a spinner and it was quite clean striking. Another shot which he pulled over square leg so casually to fast bowler, that tells about the self belief that Klaasen has in himself.

An exceptional talent he has been but at times couldn’t unleash his potential. The way he has been batting in last few matches, it is certainly a great news for Cricket South Africa to have such a player in the middle order who can switch to destructive mode pretty quickly.

One of the most special thing about Heinrich Klaasen is his attitude towards spinners. Now always, you see an adept batsman who can play spinners like Klaasen can. So strong in his back foot that spinners are left with no choice but to bowl him on full and when when he gets a full length delivery, more often than not he tonks it over long on to mid wicket region.

He punished both English spinners during odi series because of his hand made square of the wicket game. At times, Klaasen seems no less than a bully because he is never intimidated neither goes to intimidate others.

Just a pure ball striker who enjoys his game, always a step ahead of bowlers and if he’s in mood, 8 overs are enough to put his team in an strictly winning position.

South Africa is growing consistently with the new addition of power game to its batting order. Now, they have Heinrich Klaasen, Aiden Markram and David Miller in the middle order. Two of the them fires in a game and it is certainly over for the opponents.
