Georginio Wijnaldum fired a stunner in the seventieth minute. Sheffield United goalkeeper tried to save the ball but it howled between his legs and cross the goal line.

Interestingly, Wijnaldum’s shot was the first attempt on target for the Reds. Sheffield United defense had managed to respond to the strikes of Salah, Mane and Firmino for the first 90 minutes of the game.

Sheffield United is now at the 12th position after leaving the Wijnaldum’s shot slip off the hands of Henderson. On the other hand, the Reds is leading the league. More so, they have opened an 8-point gap over their rivals, Manchester City.

Liverpool missed the premier league title to Manchester City who were one point ahead last season. The pace at which the Reds are winning the premier league games is a clear proof that they do not want to miss the title this season.

Georginio Wijnaldum seems to be the last hope for Jurgen Klopp. Last season when playing against Barcelona, Wijnaldum came as a super substitute and scored two goals which made the reds qualify for UEFA semi-finals.

Jurgen Klopp believes that Liverpool deserved a win and it is the hard work of his players which granted them the winning goal.

“We were deserved winners. If it’s 0-0 we cannot moan and would not. But if there’s one winner it should be us. We worked hard for it. Winning in days like this is extremely worthy. We scored a lucky goal, we know that. But the boys worked so hard for it,” Klopp said.

Man of the match

Despite the fact that Wijnaldum scored the winning goal, the man of the match award went to Sheffield’s squad. John Fleck was awarded the man of the match award after spectacular performance in the match.

Chris Wilder advice to Henderson

The Sheffield United manager, Chris Wilder also had comments to make about Henderson howler. “If he wants to be a professional footballer, these things are going to happen. But if he wants to play for the top teams, he wants to play for England, then he needs to do better, he needs to concentrate more. It’s a disappointing day for him. I am not going to put my arms around him, simply he needs to do better.”
