Coppa Italia

Paulo Dybala and Higuain combined brilliantly in the Coppa Italia as Juventus brushed aside Udinese to reach the quarter-finals.

Honestly speaking, Juventus does have an abundance of quality strikers at their disposal right now. With Cristiano Ronaldo being the main man for the Bianconeri, both Higuain and Dybala are pretty darn good as well.

The Argentine duo has been lighting up Serie A for many years now. Their ability to work in tandem is something that will certainly appeal to Maurizio Sarri.

Cristiano Ronaldo withdrew from the squad after falling ill in the day. The 34-year-old picked up a sinus infection.

However, even without him on the pitch, Dybala combined brilliantly with Gonzalo Higuain. The latter smashed in the opening goal before scoring a penalty after keeper Nicolas tripped Federico Bernardeschi.

The Argentine, then scored with a delightful clipped shot as Douglas Costa added another from the spot. This he did after Bram Nuytinck handled in the area.

Who needs Ronaldo?

With sarcasm placed aside, Ronaldo’s move illustrates that Sarri can more than afford to hand the Portuguese star a rest now and then preserve his fitness in the twilight years of his career.

Dybala has rediscovered some of his mojos under the new manager and he followed up his sublime assist with a sensational goal in the second-half for Juventus third of the evening.

There is only one Argentine with a better-left foot that Dybala and we all know who that is…Do you? Well, that should be Sergio Aguero. Right?

With that in mind, Juventus won the game 4-0 to progress to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia. It has not been a bad few days for the Bianconeri after they established a two-point lead at the top of the Serie A table.

One thing that is intriguing watching Higuain and Dybala go about their business as a partnership for Juventus is asking how would they have faired as a duo for Argentine.

Should they have been given some element of time together to try and remedy a misfiring team?

However, with Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero in the frame, it was never going to be easy to sandwich all the forwards into one side. Maybe Argentina missed a trick….
