Guyana Amazon Warriors have announced their list of retained players for the upcoming 2024 edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), with Shai Hope and Shimron Hetmyer leading the pack. The franchise confirmed on Thursday that Hope, the Player of the Tournament in CPL 2023, and Hetmyer are among the nine Guyanese players set to represent the Warriors once again.

Joining them are Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie, Keemo Paul, Kevin Sinclair, Shamar Joseph, Kevlon Anderson, and Junior Sinclair. These players will be donning the vibrant colors of the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the next season, showcasing their talent and skill on the cricket field.

Interestingly, the Warriors have opted not to retain any overseas players from the previous season, including their former captain Imran Tahir. This decision opens up opportunities for fresh international talent to join the squad for CPL 2024. Players like Saim Ayub and Azam Khan from Pakistan, Mohammad Haris who replaced Rahmanullah Gurbaz from Afghanistan, and South Africa’s Dwaine Pretorius will be looking to make their mark with the Warriors in the upcoming season.

With the retention of key players and the prospect of signing up to five overseas players, the Guyana Amazon Warriors are gearing up for an exciting campaign in the 2024 CPL. Cricket fans can look forward to thrilling matches and outstanding performances as the team prepares to compete for the ultimate glory in the upcoming season.
