The Tottenham Hotspur captain has been speaking about the club’s progress and Antonio Conte’s role in it as he believes he understands Antonio Conte’s unhappiness with Tottenham following his appointment as manager.

Spurs’ win over Brighton on Wednesday night extended a win-loss-win-loss cycle that has persisted for the majority of 2022.

Conte’s demeanor has frequently mirrored the game’s outcome, with him being enthusiastic at times and frustrated at others. The Italian’s post-match emotions, on the other hand, have become more consistent in March as he has witnessed his team’s overall growth.

Lloris believes he and the other Tottenham players are gaining a better understanding of Conte, his emotions, and what he wants from them.

“Obviously, after four months, we develop a strong bond. I believe he is displaying a great deal of enthusiasm and is carrying out his duties with a great deal of heart,” the Spurs captain stated.

“At times, we can understand his annoyance. We, the players, share this aggravation, yet we continue to work. Antonio and his employees deliver the highest quality service from the start, and they are not the type of people to quit up under any circumstances.”

“You’re in the Premier League and facing challenges, but everyone senses the improvement. We truly believe in the path and direction we want to follow as a team, and I believe that game by game, we can continue to improve and earn a chance to play in the final race.”

Spurs’ 2-0 success at the Amex Stadium and fourth-place Arsenal’s 2-0 loss at home to Liverpool on Wednesday night mean that the top four competition is once again all to play for.

There are only three points separating the two sides, with Manchester United, West Ham, and Wolves all vying for fourth place.

Lloris maintains his composure, despite the fact that he believes the team is heading in the correct direction.

“It’s critical to keep our feet on the ground and progress game by game. But I truly believe the team has improved, even with the setback to Manchester United,” he remarked.

“The feeling following the game was one of dissatisfaction. But also of a genuine sense that we are clearly demonstrating a direction in the way we play football, and today was no exception.”

“It’s been a few games in a row now that we’ve grown in terms of maturity and good vibes, despite certain disappointments such as the FA Cup defeat, the Manchester United game, and Burnley’s away win.”

“I feel it is part of the process, but it is apparent and critical to grasp that Sunday is critical for Spurs if we are to be in the correct position for the last race and retain our chance, our hopes for a successful season finale.”
