Swedish player Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Manchester City striker Erling Haaland’s progress in the Citizens will depend on the head coach’s ego.

What did Ibrahimovic say about Erling Haaland?

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic gave his Erling verdict and made it clear that he thinks very highly of big money in the summer of signing Manchester City. However, Zlatan is not sure how Erling Haaland will progress at the Etihad Stadium and suggested that Pep Guardiola could hinder his development.

The Sweden national team player said he likes Erling Haaland very much. According to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he thinks Haaland is a very smart player. Erling does not do what he is not capable of. The Swedish player says he doesn’t go down to make the ball play. Haaland waits in front of the gate and kills them all. According to Ibrahimovic, Erling haaland reminds him of such players as Christian Vieri, David Trezeguet, Filippo Inzaghi.

“He is the new version of these players. Can Guardiola make Haaland even stronger? It depends on Guardiola’s ego whether he will let him get bigger than him or not. Because he didn’t let me get bigger? Me or others? Not just me, but and many more,” says the Milan veteran striker.

A little about Erling Haaland

The Norwegian national team player has taken the Premier League by storm since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, scoring 22 goals in all competitions already for Pep Guardiola’s side. Zlatan knows what it’s like to work with Pep, but famously didn’t see eye to eye with the coach during his time in Barcelona. The Swedish striker even said he feels like he’s lost his identity during his brief stint at the Camp Nou.

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland is the first Man City player to score in seven consecutive home games in all competitions since Aguero in February 2018.

Erling Haaland missed the Champions League final group game against Sevilla on Wednesday with an injury but is expected to return on Saturday against the Cottagers.
