International Cricket Council (ICC) has listed out names of players who performed ace in their department. A number of suprising names have come out but the awards are well deserved.

BABAR AZAM: ICC MEN’S CRICKETER OF THE YEAR 

For the second consecutive year, Babar is the winner of the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy. Last year, his cross-format performance was astounding. In 2022, he scored over 2500 runs at an average of 54.12, with eight century and fifteen half-centuries.

NAT SCIVER: WOMEN’S CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

In 2022, Englishman Nat Sciver scored two century and five half-centuries. With 833 ODI runs, she was the best batswoman for her team. She played one of the all-time great innings during the Women’s World Cup, scoring a tenacious 148* from 121 in the match against Australia.

ESHA OZA: WOMEN’S ASSOCIATE CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

Esha Oza of the UAE is the recipient of this prestigious honour. In 23 innings last year, she scored close to 700 runs. She was also deadly with the ball, taking 15 wickets at an average of 15.4.

GERHARD ERASMUS: MEN’S ASSOCIATE CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

This award goes to Namibian Gerhard Erasmus. His 956 runs in ODIs in 2022 were scored at an incredible average of 56.23, while his 306 runs in T20Is were scored at a 38.25 average. He took 12 ODI and 6 T20I wickets thanks to his effective spin.

SURYAKUMAR YADAV: MEN’S T20I CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

Last year, Suryakumar Yadav for India was in incredible form in the shortest format, smashing 68 sixes in 2022, the highest by any player in a single T20I season. Overall, he contributed 1164 runs with an absurd strike rate of 187.43 and an average of 46.56.

TAHLIA MCGRATH: WOMEN’S T20I CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

Australia’s Tahlia McGrath won the ICC Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award just over a year into her T20I career. In 2022, she played 16 games, averaged 435 runs at 62.14, and claimed 13 wickets.

MARCO JANSEN: MEN’S EMERGING CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

In a really successful year for him, South African all-arounder Marco Jansen was in top form with the ball and made significant contributions with the willow. He scored 234 Test runs while batting, picking up 36 Test wickets with a 19.02 bowling average.

RENUKA SINGH: WOMEN’S EMERGING CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

The ICC Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year award goes to Renuka Singh of India. With her excellent seam and swing bowling, she won the admiration of everybody, taking 40 international wickets in one year. She beat off opposition from Yastika Bhatia, Alice Capsey, and Darcie Brown of Australia, as well as from her squad.

RICHARD ILLINGWORTH: UMPIRE OF THE YEAR

Richard Illingworth, a former player for England, wins the 2019 David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year after after winning it in 2018. Illingworth participated in 24 international competitions in 2022.

BABAR AZAM: MEN’S ODI CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

In the previous season, Babar amassed 3 centuries and 679 runs from nine games, averaging 84.87 runs per game. Following up on his excellent 2021, the hitter produced again another remarkable year at the plate.

NAT SCIVER: WOMEN’S ODI CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

The incredible all-arounder excelled in every format and regularly outperformed opponents of the greatest calibre.

Sciver’s major skill is run production, and her runs were scored in a stunning manner as well, earning the right-hander a well-deserved reputation as one of the most beautiful batters to see in the game.

Sciver led England for a large portion of their home summer, scoring 1346 runs and taking 22 wickets in 33 games.

BEN STOKES: MEN’S TEST CRICKETER OF THE YEAR

Ben Stokes of England had outstanding results with both the bat and the ball, but throughout the year, it was his leadership that shone out. England won nine out of ten Tests while playing an aggressive style of cricket. This includes Pakistan winning a historic series.
