Hazlewood moved up to the second spot in the bowlers Rankings list while Sri Lanka’s spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga who was the top-ranked bowler last week has moved down to the third spot.

Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has made positive gains in the latest ICC T20I Rankings update released on Wednesday. Hazlewood moved up to the second spot in the bowlers Rankings list while Sri Lanka’s spin bowling all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga who was the top-ranked bowler last week has moved down to the third spot. South Africa’s pace sensation Tabraiz Shamsi reclaimed his No 1 position in the ICC T20I Rankings for bowlers.

 

Josh Hazlewood returned with his career-best figures in T20Is when he scalped four wickets by conceding just 12 runs in the first T20I against Sri Lanka which Australia won by 20 runs via the DLS method. In the secodn T20I, he scalped three wickets before conceding just five runs in the Super Over to help his team seal another glorious win. Australia has won the five-match series with Hazlewood leading the wicket-taking charts with eight scalps.

 

On the other hand, Wanindu Hasaranga scalped five wickets in the first two matches of the T20I series but then returned with a positive COVID-19 result & is ruled out of the tour as well. In the ICC T20I Rankings for batters, Babar Azam continues to top the list while Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi grabs the top spot in the all-rounder Rankings list.

 

The latest ICC T20I Rankings update also considers performances in the Quadrangular T20I series in Oman that saw Rohan Mustafa of UAE move up into the top ten list of the ICC T20I Rankings for all-rounders. He is currently at NO 7 spot after scoring 122 runs in three matches & also picked three wickets. Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee, who finished as the leading run-scorer in the competition with 142, gained 63 places to be placed 53 in the rankings for batters.

 

Dipendra Singh Airee from Nepal was the leaidng run-scorer in the Quadrangular T20I series held in Oman by scoring 142 runs which helped him to move up by 63 places to 53rd position in the batters Rankings list. Chirag Suri of the UAE also moved up on the ICC T20I rankings for batters after scoring unbeaten 84 runs against Nepal which was the highest individual score in the Quadrangular T20I series. In the bowlers rankings list, Oman’s Bilal Khan moved up to occupy 18th position after conceding just 62 runs in his 12 overs spell in the Quadrangular T20I series.
