Gujarat Titans had to face defeat yesterday in the IPL finale against Chennai Super Kings, but GT’s captain Hardik Pandya gave a beautiful statement in the post-match ceremony that won the hearts of many fans. Hardik said that he is proud of the team, and if he had to lose the title to anyone, he would rather lose it to MS Dhoni. The match was very close till the end, as Dubey and Jadeja couldn’t hit any boundaries on the first three balls of Mohit Sharma’s over. CSK needed 10 runs to win off the last two balls, and Jadeja did the job, and CSK won their fifth title at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

GT gave a good target
While batting first, Gujarat Titans managed to put a good score of 214 runs on the board, and when it was CSK’s turn to chase, the rain started pouring just after three balls, and the match was stopped. After a few hours, the pitch was again ready, and the match continued again, but with a target of 171 runs in 15 overs by the DLS method. Conway and Gaikwad gave a good start to the team and built an opening partnership, but they soon got dismissed. Rahane and Dubey scored some runs, and after Rahane was dismissed, Dhoni came on the crease but got out on the very first ball. After this, Rayudu made 19 runs off eight balls. The building runs and fall of wickets continued, and at the end, Jadeja’s two boundaries led the team to win their fifth title.

HP’s words for Dhoni
In the post-match ceremony, Hardik Pandya said, “It was Dhoni’s destiny to win this title, and good things happen to good people. I am very happy for him because he is one of the best people I know. God has been kind, and God has been kind to me as well, but today was his night. If I had to lose, I’d rather lose to him. Pandya also praised Sai Sudharsan for his amazing knock of 96 runs off 47 balls, which helped GT reach a score of 214 runs.

Pandya also said, We play with a lot of heart and are really proud of the way we kept fighting till the end. Our team has a motto: “We win together and we lose together”. I’m not going to make any excuses , Chennai Super Kings played better cricket. We batted well, and the way Sudharsan played, it is not easy to play at this level. He also said that Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, and Shami , everyone delivered very well.
