IND vs ENG: Ravi Ashwin tests positive for COVID-19, yet to join team India in England

India’s senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been hit by Corona. Due to this, he could not accompany his teammates to England for the fifth Test. BCCI informed that Ashwin is currently in quarantine and will join the team only after fulfilling all protocol requirements.

A BCCI source said that Ashwin has not accompanied the team to the UK as he underwent a COVID-19 test before leaving, in which he was found infected. But we are hopeful that he will recover before the Test match which starts on July 1.

Barring coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer, all the players had reached London on June 16. At the same time, Rohit reached London on 18 June. Now all the players have reached Leicester. Here Team India will play a four-day warm-up match against the county team Leicester from June 24. Coaches Dravid, Shreyas and Pant arrived in Leicester on Monday.

IND vs ENG 5th Test Match: Team India’s tour of England is going to start from July 1. India has to play 1 Test, 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches on the tour of England in July-August.

This only Test will take place to make up for the fifth Test which was canceled due to Corona last year. Everything is going to be different for Team India in this Test match.
