India vs South Africa
Despite posting a below-par total of 223 runs in the first innings, India managed to end day 2 with an upper hand in the game on Thursday. The Indian bowlers bowled great lengths and bundled South Africa out for 210 runs, thereby taking a slender 13-run lead after the second innings. Jasprit Bumrah, who wasn’t at his best in the last game, wreaked havoc on Thursday. He picked his first-five wicket haul of the series and denied South Africa of posting a big score in their first innings.
It was Umesh Yadav who got the first breakthrough in the form of Keshav Maharaj in the 21st over. He also got the second wicket as well of Van Der Dussen to leave South Africa in trouble at 112 for 4. In-form batsmen, Keegan Petersen played yet another sensational knock and ensured that the runs keep coming at a good pace.
Virat Kohli are currently unbeaten at 9 and 14
Bavuma looked good for his 28 of 52 balls but Shami eventually had him with a ripper of a delivery. Petersen made 72 runs off just 166 balls and looked set to score his maiden century but Jasprit Bumrah eventually had him in the 65th over. South Africa, in the end, managed to score 210 runs in the first innings. Bumrah finished with 5 wickets for 42 runs, while Umesh and Shami picked two wickets each.
By the end of the second day of the Test match, India had lost two wickets of KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal. Mayank Agarwal was the first one to go off Rabada after scoring 7 off 15 deliveries, while KL Rahul managed to score 10 runs off 22 deliveries. Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli are currently unbeaten at 9 and 14, respectively. India has managed to score 57 runs for 2 wickets at stumps on Day 2 of the Test match.
