IND vs SL 1st Test Match: Kohli says, I want to inspire the “next generation” that they can also achieve their goals

The first match of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka being played in Mohali is the 100th Test match of former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli. Kohli is the 12th Indian cricketer to play 100 Test matches.

Commenting on his achievement, Kohli on Friday said he wants the “next generation” to take inspiration from the fact that he can achieve the milestone. Despite playing in all three formats through a tough international schedule.

Indian cricket’s current superstar Kohli was honoured by the BCCI on Friday on the occasion of his historic 100th Test match.  Dravid, the head coach of the Indian team, presented a cap and a stunning memento to Kohli.

Kohli said after being felicitated by Rahul Dravid, “In current cricket, the amount of cricket we play with three formats and one IPL. Whatever the next generation can take from me, it will  It’s that I played 100 matches in the longer format.” Kohli said, “It’s a special moment for me. My wife Anushka is here and so is my brother.

Everyone is very proud. It is truly a team game and it could not have been possible without you. Thanks to BCCI also.” BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, Secretary Jay Shah, Treasurer Arun Dhumal and Vice President Rajiv Shukla were present on the occasion.

Former India captain Virat Kohli has joined the list of Sunil Gavaskar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Ishant Sharma, who have scored 100 for the country.  Have played Test or more matches.
