Second Test between India and Sri Lanka – In the second Test
with Sri Lanka, Team India, batting first, scored 252 runs in the first innings for the loss of 9 wickets. In response, Sri Lanka’s team was reduced to 109 runs. India took a lead of 143 runs in the first innings.
After this, India declared their innings by scoring 303 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the second innings. After this Sri Lanka’s team needed 447 runs to win.
But the team was all out for 208 runs in the second innings. Shreyas Iyer did an excellent job in batting for India in both innings.

Rishabh Pant has also made a new record during the second Test. Rishabh Pant has become the first batsman to score the fastest fifty for India in Test cricket. Pant scored the fastest 50 runs in the second innings with the help of 7 fours and 2 sixes in 31 balls.
Earlier in Test cricket, in the year 1982 in Karachi, Kapil Dev had scored fifty in 30 balls against Pakistan. Pakistan’s batsman Misba-ul-Haq holds the record for the fastest half-century in Test cricket in the world.
Rishabh Pant has also become the first Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to win the ‘Player of the Series award in Test cricket.

Shreyas Iyer has scored more than 50 runs in both innings of the second Test against Sri Lanka. Shreyas Iyer scored 92 runs in 98 balls in the first innings and 67 runs in 87 balls in the second innings.
With this, he has become the first Indian batsman to score more than 50 runs in both the innings of a day-night test match.
Shreyas Iyer has become the fifth batsman in the world to score more than 50 runs in both the innings of a day-night Test match. In this, Darren Bravo of West Indies is at number one, who made this record against Pakistan in Dubai in 2016.
The record made by Ashwin in Test cricket –
R Ashwin has become the first bowler in the world to take 100 wickets in the World Test Championship. With this, R Ashwin has reached number 8 in the list of bowlers with the highest wicket-takers in Test cricket.
Earlier, Dale Steyn of South Africa was at number 8, who has now moved to number 9. Sri Lankan bowler Muttiah Muralitharan holds the record for taking 800 wickets in Test cricket.
