In the first match of the T20 series between India and Sri Lanka (IND vs SL), all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja came out to bat at number four. However, only four balls could come to his side. He returned unbeaten on three runs.
After the match, when Captain Rohit Sharma was asked the reason for sending Ravindra Jadeja to the top order, he answered it in detail.
“We want a lot more from him and that’s why he was sent to bat at the top of the order,” Rohit Sharma said. You will see this in future as well. I want him to bat in the top order. He can bat depending on the situation.
So we guys will try and see if we can promote him to bat or not. We are very clear about what we want from him in white-ball cricket.
It is noteworthy that Ravindra Jadeja can bat better along with bowling. He has also completed 2000 thousand runs in both Test and ODI formats. He has averaged above 32 in both Test & ODI. He has scored a total of 30 half-centuries in both formats.
