Indian vs Afghanistan

India takes on Afghanistan, the live stream of the qualifier for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, will be broadcast by Star Sports Network in India. The Indian National Team vs Afghanistan match of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualifiers will be played at the Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata.

The Indian national team kicked off their campaign on 8 June, and all of their matches are being played at Kolkatas Salt Lake Stadium. The Indian National Team is top of Group D following their first-round matches, but their path towards qualification is still a long way off.

As India takes on Afghanistan in the final match of qualifiers, India will be looking to make another move closer to AFC Asian Cup 2023. After their impressive 2-0 victory against Cambodia in the first game of their AFC Asian Cup Qualifier, India is set to face Afghanistan in the next game on 11 June. After an encouraging start in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers, the Sunil Chhetri-led India are set to clash with Afghanistan in the second game of Group D on Saturday night (June 11).

The inspiring Sunil Chhetri will be looking to build upon his performance against Cambodia, when India take on Afghanistan in the second game of their AFC Asian Cup qualifiers, here Saturday. India takes on Afghanistan in the second game of the AFC Asian Cup Qualifying Group D match at Salt Lake Stadium, Kolkata, on Saturday. Indias soccer side defeated Cambodia 2-0 in its first game of Group 3 AFC Asian Cup qualifying, but speaking before the Saturdays game against Afghanistan, Stimac said: “We have to remain disciplined, focused and composed in possession. I am confident of the situation Indian football team is in, my expectation is that we win this game.”

Things have changed for both teams since this game in the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Doha, in June last year, but manager Igor Stimac is keen to do things in a more clinical manner now.a Of course, a three-point haul against Cambodia would not count for much if India do not beat Afghanistan. The Indian menas national soccer team and Afghanistan have clashed in recent FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, both meetings ending in a 1-1 draw. The Indian national team has won twice in the past five meetings between the two teams, Afghanistan has won once, while two others matches were drawn.

Both teams had mixed starts to their AFC Asian Cup Qualifying campaigns for 2023, with India dominating Cambodia and Afghanistan suffering a narrow loss to Hong Kong. Afghanistan, however, suffered a shocking 1-2 loss against Hong Kong in the last game, and anything short of a victory would have kept Afghanistans chances of qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup Finals alive. A victory on Saturday would give India an edge on qualifying for the AFC Asian Cup, with Afghanistan knowing that it cannot afford to lose. A defeat against India would pretty much put Afghanistan out of contention to qualify next year for 2023 Asian Cup.
