Chasing 182 for victory, Pakistan reached the target with a ball to spare, thanks to Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 71, and Mohammad Nawaz, who scored 42. The two shared a 73-run partnership which tilted the match more in Pakistan’s favor. Pakistan defeated India in the Asia Cup for the first time since 2014.

After the dismissal of both, it seemed that India could make a comeback and when Pakistan needed 32 runs in 16 balls, now India got some hold in the match. But in the meantime, four wide balls were thrown by the Indian bowlers and an important catch from Asif Ali was also dropped. Ultimately, Khushdil Shah (14) and Asif Ali (16) brought a smile to the fans by winning Pakistan.

Earlier, Virat Kohli’s knock of 60 runs in 44 balls took India to 181-7 in 20 overs. India got off to a great start, scoring 61 runs in the first 6 overs but in the middle overs, the Pakistan spin bowlers bowled tight and the Indian team also lost wickets at frequent intervals.

The Indian team had entered the field with only five bowlers and they had to bear the brunt of it. Hardik Pandya, the hero of the last India vs Pakistan match, was dismissed for a duck in this match and also gave 44 runs in four overs. Yuzvendra Chahal also could not spread the magic of his spin properly.

The tournament in the United Arab Emirates is gearing up for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia next month. Virat Kohli’s return to form is good news for the Indian team, while Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam has proved unsuccessful in the last three matches.

India and Pakistan still have to play Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the Super Four round robin stage, with the top two teams reaching the final on 11 September. We can see India vs Pakistan final once again.
