The second T20I is on its way. Team Indian led by Rohit Sharma will be looking forward to sealing the series with another victory.

Four months after the World Cup disaster in the UAE, India has adopted a bold attitude after the infusion of youths into the team.

The men in blue will try to defend their undefeated record after ticking all the boxes in the series opener against Sri Lanka in Lucknow.

They will also be looking to clinch a hat-trick of whitewashes in white-ball cricket when they face the islands in the last two T20Is at Dharamsala’s Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium this weekend.

Team India had a disappointing time at the T20 World Cup 2021. However, after that, they made mandatory changes and are on a winning streak.

Under the leadership of newly appointed captain Rohit Sharma, they clinched one after another victory.

Following the tournament, they won two T20 series in a row. Aside from clinching the series, the match provided Rohit with the opportunity to set a new T20I world record.

Rohit has guided India to 15 victories in 16 home matches in the format. He has equalled this record with New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and English captain Eoin Morgan.

Also, If Rohit Sharma finds victory in Dharmshala then he will be the Indian captain with the most wins at home.

At home, Rohit has two more victories than Virat Kohli and five more than MS Dhoni.

Rohit Sharma has a fantastic record as captain of team India. In his term as a captain, he has led his team to victory 22 out of 24 times.

Team India has won 11 matches in a row under his leadership which shows how composed they are as a team.

In November 2021, he was appointed as full-time captain. Since then, his team defeated New Zealand at home.

They registered a 3-0 thumping victory over the West Indies. Now, they are already 1-0 up against the young Sri Lankan team.

As a captain, Rohit is only 19 runs away from reaching 1000 runs. He will become the fastest Indian captain to achieve this milestone. Ex-captain Virat Kohli took 30 matches to achieve the same feat.
