India vs Sri Lanka: India and Sri Lanka will come face to face for third and final ODI at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram. So far, everything has been good for the Indian team as they already lead the series with an unassasible 2-0 lead. They have won the series and will seek to clean sweep the Sri Lanka. On the other hand, the Sri Lankan will be looking forward to end the series on a high.
India is looking solid with their formidable batting line-up. In the first ODI, it was batting masterclass from the top order as they piled up 373 runs on board. In the second ODI, things changed. While chasing a modest total,Rohit Sharma and Shubhaman Gill started well but India lost wickets in clusters while trying to play aggresive brand of cricket. Fortunately for the team, chasing total wasn’t high, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul did the clinical job in pioneering the win for India.
Sri Lanka has problems with its batting line-up. It’s been tough ride for them. Being a team from subcontinent, they have struggled to tackle the Indian spinners. Only Kushal Mendes has looked good with the bat while some others have got the start but couldn’t convert it into big innings.
From bowling perspective, India has a clear edge over Sri Lanka. Mohmmad Siraj has been frontline wicket taker and in the middle overs, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav has been handy operator. Umran Malik is always taking wickets in the middle overs but he can go for runs because of his extra pace.
Sri Lankan bowlers were on the good mark in the second ODI. They have been lacking consistency but there is some fast bowling talent like Kasun Rajitha and Lahiru Kumara. The difference is among the spinners, they have only one spinner. Wanindu Hasaranga bowled well in the second ODI but remained wicketless.
