London City Lionesses, a second division team in the Women’s Championship in England, is making waves this summer with a big signing – Kosovare Asllani. The talented player, known for her success with Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, and AC Milan, as well as the Swedish national team, has joined the ambitious project led by Michele Kang, who also owns Washington Spirit in the NWSL and Lyon.

Asllani admitted to feeling “a little bit terrified” about the move, but also expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with Kang, whom she described as the most powerful woman in the business. Alongside new head coach Jocelyn Precheur, both Asllani and Kang emphasized the club’s ambition to secure promotion to the WSL and become champions of England.

Despite the significant investments made by Kang, she remains aware that success cannot be guaranteed simply by spending money. The team has also acquired new training facilities and struck a deal with men’s League Two side Bromley to play home games at its Hayes Lane ground.

London City Lionesses are determined to achieve their goals, and with the combination of talent, ambition, and resources at their disposal, they are poised to make a strong impression in the upcoming season. Football fans will be eagerly following their progress as they strive for success in the Women’s Championship.
