Antonio Conte’s players were named Scudetto winners after Atalanta’s miss at Sassuolo on Sunday.

Inter’s victory = Atalanta’s draw

Inter won their first Serie A title in 11 years, bringing to an end a long era of Juve dominance. Atalanta were carried to a 1-1 draw by Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday, which leaves the Milan club with an unbeaten 13 point lead at the top of the table with four games left to play. The people Antonio Conte’s knew they were on the brink of glory after beating Crotone 2-0 on their last outing, and now the Nerazzurri can officially start celebrating the 19th Scudetto. Inter’s win at Crotone marked their 25th win of the season, four more than any other team, with seven draws and just two losses. Antonio Conte’s  side also boasts the best defensive record in the division and the second best attacking record for Atalanta, while their 45 goal difference currently surpasses all of their main rivals. Inter are also unbeaten in 17 league games, with their last defeat at Sampdoria on 6 January.

Juventus is not same anymore

Jose Mourinho directed Inter to its latest crown, Serie A, back in 2009-10, while also bringing Coppa Italia and the Champions League to complete an unprecedented trill. However, the Portuguese left for Real Madrid at the end of that season and the San Siro outfit ultimately failed to maintain its success after its original. Milan lifted the Scudetto in 2010-11 before Antonio Conte led Juventus to three consecutive titles and Massimiliano Allegri then took over at the Allianz Stadium to oversee five more successes. Maurizio Sarri extended the Bianconeri’s title run to nine last season, but successor Andrea Pirlo was unable to hold onto the trophy, his team currently sits fifth in the standings and 16 Inter Adrift points.
