Simone Inzaghi confirms he is set to end his 22-years spell at Lazio on 30th June this year.
The former Lazio strike failed to navigate the Italian side to a Serie A top-four finish this season. Inzaghi adds to the long list of confirmed Italian Serie A coaches leaving the club. However, he might not be the last as rumors grow of many others to depart.
Confirming his departure, Inzaghi thanked the club and the fans saying his journey with the Italian Giants has ended.
“With the strongest emotion, I wish to inform you that from June 30, my marvelous adventure with Lazio will conclude,” Inzaghi confirmed.
“I thank the club, the President, the players and fans who accompanied me in these splendid 22 years as player and coach.”
Also, the former striker, who has been in Lazio for 22 years, claims that the Biancocelesti will remain in his heart forever.
“We fought and won together. These colors will always remain in my heart. The Biancocelesti will forever be part of my soul,” Inzaghi claimed.
Italian Serie A has seen an exodus in the last few days with Antonio Conte, Gennaro Gattuso, and now Inzaghi.
Meanwhile, Manchester on loan defender Diogo Dalot speculates his future as he expresses his desire to remain at AC Milan. The 22-year old player had a successful loan spell at Serie A giants and feels a stay will suit him.
Dalot joined Milan on a season-long loan in the summer after falling on the pecking order at Old Trafford. However, his loan offers him plenty of playtime as he helps Stefano Pioli’s side to Serie A’s top-four spot.
“It was undoubtedly a very positive year, playing in a different country, in another league, with another culture and another type of game. What I mean is that at the moment I am focused on this competition that I am about to play.”
