Mumbai Indians (MI), the most successful franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL), will start its 2022 season with a match against Delhi Capitals (DC) on March 27.

All eyes are going to be on the performance of Mumbai captain Rohit Sharma in this big match. Also, Rohit is the only player to score a century and hat-trick in IPL.

Rohit has scored 5,611 runs in 213 matches of his IPL career at an average of 31.17. Meanwhile, he also scored a century and 40 half-centuries with the highest score of 109*.

In the last season, he scored 381 runs at an average of 29.30. He is currently the third highest run-scorer in the league.

Also, he is only behind in this list after Virat Kohli (6,283) and Shikhar Dhawan (5,784). Rohit, who has achieved many records with the bat, has done wonders in bowling.

He took a hat-trick against his current team MI while playing for Deccan Chargers in IPL 2009. During this, Rohit had dismissed Abhishek Nair, Harbhajan Singh and JP Duminy.

He has scored one century in the league so far. Rohit is the only player to take a hat-trick and score a century in the IPL.

Rohit Sharma is the captain who has won the IPL title the most times. Under his captaincy, MI has won the trophy a record five times in the years 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Rohit has captained MI in 129 matches so far, out of which the team has won 77 matches. On the other hand, MI’s team has lost in 51 matches under his leadership.

Rohit has been a part of the MI team for more than a decade and has played 168 matches so far. In this long interval, he has scored 4,441 runs at an average of 31.27.

Kieron Pollard is MI’s second highest run-scorer (3,268) after him. Rohit is the only batsman to touch the 4,000-run mark for MI. He has also scored the highest 32 fifties for MI so far.

Rohit (40) is currently the third-highest Indian batsman to hit most half centuries after Virat Kohli (42) and Shikhar Dhawan (44). He has received the ‘Player of the Match’ award in 18 IPL matches so far.

AB de Villiers (25) and Chris Gayle (22) have received this award more times than him. Rohit has played 213 matches so far and is the joint second highest number of matches played after Dhoni (220).
