The all-rounder of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has not been able to join his team. According to reports, Ali has not been able to come to India yet due to non-availability of visa. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying to solve this problem.
According to CSK CEO Kashi Viswanathan, Ali applied on February 28 itself and it has been more than 20 days since he applied for the visa.
He further said, “He often comes to India and still he is not getting the travel documents. We hope that he joins the team soon. He has said that he will come to India on the next flight as soon as he gets the papers.”
Moeen Ali joined CSK in 2021 and was the only overseas player to be retained by the team for this season. He was retained by CSK at a price of Rs 8 crore.
Last season, he was part of the playing 11 that lifted the IPL trophy. Also, Ali scored 357 runs in 15 matches which included a half-century. Apart from this, he took six wickets with an economy of 6.35.
worried about the availability of some players other than Ali. Deepak Chahar, who was brought back at a cost of Rs 14 crore, will miss the first half of the league completely.
Chahar was injured during the last T20I against West Indies. Another bad news is that Ruturaj Gaikwad’s fitness merit is also not clear yet. Gaikwad was also injured in late February.
