IPL 2022 is underway with a number of never seen before changes this year. David Warner will be seen playing for the Delhi Capitals (DC) team in this season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been bought in the IPL 2022 auction for an amount of Rs 6.25 crore.
Warner, who played for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) team till last season, has been a consistent run-scorer in the league. However, his form deteriorated and a big question was raised over his fluctuating strike rate.

In the IPL, Warner has scored 5,449 runs in 150 matches at an average of 41.59 and a strike rate of around 140. Meanwhile, he has scored four centuries and 50 half-centuries.
He is the fifth highest run-scorer behind Virat Kohli (6,283), Shikhar Dhawan (5,784), Rohit Sharma (5,611) and Suresh Raina (5,528). Taking numbers in perspective, he can leave Suresh Raina behind in this IPL. He won’t play the first couple of matches because he will be engaged in the ODI series against Pakistan.
Warner (4) is joint third in terms of most centuries in the IPL. Only Kohli (5) and Gayle (6) are the other two batsmen to have scored more centuries than him.
He shares this record with Shane Watson (4) followed by AB de Villiers (3) as the other batsman in the list.
He can match Gayle by scoring two more centuries in IPL 2022. If IPL 2022 really turns out to be special for David Warner and surely he can score a couple of centuries. He has the capacity to do it.
Warner has been one of the most aggressive batsmen in the IPL and scores runs in fours and sixes. He has hit 526 fours so far and is third in this case after Kohli (546) and Dhawan (654). He can cross the mark of 550 fours this season.
Warner (200) is ranked eighth overall in terms of sixes and he could overtake Raina (203) in the IPL 2022 season. Warner has scored 4,794 runs in 129 innings as an opener with 44 half-centuries. He can become the second opener to score 5,000 runs. David Warner can also complete 50 half-centuries as an opener in IPL 2022.
