Rohit Sharma is fantastic opener, and there is no doubt about his strength as a batter. However, his recent form suggests that he has performed good in one match, then in later matches, he seemed to be unpredictable with his batting standard. Inconsistentcy has taken hold of Rohit’s batting expression.
Last time he played a good knock was in Chennai against Australia, it was a match winning performance on a tough pitch. However, big players are required to perform on big stages, pretty match, that’s why they are called big names of cricket. We have in the past history that a number of players lost their batting touch under the captaincy pressure. More than 80% of Rohit’s involvement in the game makes up about his leadership. There is too much to think about in a knockout match like this, and consequently the pressure of genuinely leading the time has suppressed his batting prudence.
One of the best openers of this generation hasn’t been able to perform at the big stage. The position of team India in WTC Final doesn’t look promising, it is apparent that Australia is in dominating position but things can change if India bats upto its full potential.
