Despite India’s lack of interest, Pakistan Cricket Board chief Rameez Raja has said that he will discuss the four-nation one-day tournament with BCCI President Sourav Ganguly at the Asian Cricket Council meeting to be held in Dubai on March 19.

Rameez told reporters at the National Stadium that he has proposed a tournament that includes teams from Australia and England, apart from India and Pakistan. He said that the purpose of this was to put the players of India and Pakistan against each other.

He said, “I will talk to Sourav Ganguly about this during the ACC meeting in Dubai. We have both been former captains and players and for us cricket is different from politics.

“Even if India does not agree, a three-nation tournament with Australia and England can be played in Pakistan,” he said.

Rameez expressed confidence that the Indian team would come to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup next year.

He said, “I think they will come. If they don’t come, we will see what can be done.”

BCCI secretary Jay Shah has already rejected Rameez’s proposal, saying India’s aim is globalisation of the game and not short-term financial gains.

India and Pakistan are the two best teams in world cricket and fans are also waiting for the match between them in a very exciting way. There has been a lot of difference between the two countries regarding security and politics.

Australia has given a new twist to the cricket world by visiting Pakistan after 24 years.

It is also worth mentioning that a few days ago a member of the Australian Cricket Association supported the proposal of a tri-series between Australia, India and Pakistan. Although no official confirmation has been made from the BCCI.

Rameez Raja will propose the concept of the series to Sourav Ganguly at the Asian Cricket Council to be held in Dubai on March 19. This proposal is also expected to get support from Australia and England, eventually India, Pakistan, Australia and England will play a series if everything goes well.
