Tyrell Malacia, a top defender for Feyenoord, is about to become one of Erik ten Hag’s first signings.

Online video has surfaced that seems to capture the exact moment Erik ten Hag first noticed the gifted kid, Tyrell Malacia while leading Ajax.

He appears to have sensationally picked out the 22-year-old during an Eredivisie match.

Ten Hag is the main subject of a fan’s internet compilation of Malacia’s greatest moments while he sits in the dugout.

The former Ajax manager can be heard pointing in the player’s direction and exclaiming in Dutch, “That youngster at left back is wonderful,” indicating that the full-impressive back’s game performance drew his attention.

The high praise didn’t end there, as Ten Hag later instructed assistant coach Michael Reiziger to “take note of him” as he was sitting next to him.

Furthermore, it is well known that Ten Hag admires his countryman.

When still playing for Ajax, was Malacia one of the 52-year-transfer old’s targets? last year. Ten Hag didn’t say much in his reply, but he made it clear what he thought of the defense.

Yes, we certainly believe he is a good player, Ten Hag said.

“A transfer for Malacia to us is not a problem at all.” It does not play at all, before everyone starts making guesses again. With our existing lineup, we can make room for [Nicolas] Tagliafico’s departure. We do, in fact, have a shadow list if it is truly essential. Does Malacia appear on that list? I won’t reveal it to you.

Malacia’s transfer might have seemed to come out of nowhere, but it looks that Ten Hag has been trying to get him for some time.

As the Old Trafford club concentrated on their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong, who has the same agency as the Feyenoord star, the Old Trafford club disclosed on Tuesday that Malacia was ready to join French side Lyon.

However, as the De Jong negotiations moved forward, United turned their attention to Malacia’s transaction and had a deal in place with Feyenoord for £12.9 million plus an additional £1.7 million in add-ons, surpassing Lyon’s offer of £12.9 million all-in.

Malacia, a high-energy contemporary full-back with five caps for Holland, must now choose whether or not he wants to transfer to Old Trafford, where he will face Luke Shaw.

United wants to wait till De Jong’s deal is completed before moving on to other acquisitions like Malacia.

Malacia’s transfer to Lyon appeared to be a done deal, thus United turned its attention to alternative targets like Nicolas Tagliafico, a defender for Ajax.

However, De Jong’s agents are now attempting to sway both players to Ten Hag’s side.
