Lionel Messi didn’t seem to take well to the former Barcelona rival who caught the player during pre-match practice in Japan.

A little about the topic

Argentine footballer Lionel Messi and Spanish player Sergio Ramos were once fierce rivals on opposing sides of Spain’s Clasico division, and it seems those times at Barcelona and Real Madrid are not entirely forgotten after the exchange of words in PSG training. The couple is currently in Japan as Paris Saint-Germain ramps up their preparations for the 2022-23 campaign.

The Argentine star missed a World Cup-winning defender during practice ahead of a friendly clash with Gamba Osaka but was caught after the player showed Ramos a clean pair of heels and appeared to let the former Real Madrid captain know he was less than impressed after hitting the ball in the bottom corner.

What happened at Paris Saint-Germain training between Ramos and Messi

They were caught on camera during open practice, with Sergio catching Lionel with an outstretched boot after failing to stop the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner from slipping out of bounds.

What’s next for Lionel Messi?

Argentine star Lionel Messi sustained no lasting damage from a clubmate, with his quick feet allowing him to avoid heavy contact before drilling into the back of the net. The Argentine was in goal for Paris Saint-Germain during their 2022 pre-season tour, with one goal recorded in three outings. The hope is that the all-time great will find the spark, heading for his second trip with the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

Lionel managed just 11 efforts across all competitions last season, with just six of those hits coming on the French top flight, but the player is under contract for another 12 months and will believe there is much more to come – if Sergio can avoid sending him into rehab cabinet.
