The Portuguese footballer said it was a great honor to win the FIFA Special Best Award on Monday. The Portugal star broke the record set by former Iranian hero Ali Daei in September when he scored his 110th goal for his country. He has since taken his tally to 115.

FIFA released a special tribute to the 36-year-old during The Best Awards in Zurich and the player expressed his delight on social media. Cristiano Ronaldo wrote that winning the FIFA Special Best Award is a huge honor and a huge privilege. That such an institution chose to recognize him as the Best Goalkeeper in the history of FIFA competitions is for Ronaldo the pinnacle of his individual achievements in representing his beloved country.

According to Cristiano Ronaldo, he now has to turn this award into extra fuel and motivation to help achieve all their goals in Man Utd for this season, as well as for the upcoming play-offs in March, so that Portugal can be in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and they can all continue to write this amazing story together.

Ronaldo says last but not least a special word to all the huge players who have represented Portugal by his side over the past two decades and to all the international players he has faced so many times around the world. their talent, their professionalism and their quality have always contributed to making Ronaldo a better player.

Ronaldo still has a passion for the game

The Portuguese superstar will turn 37 in less than three weeks on February 5th. Despite his age, Cristiano feels he can continue playing into his forties, as he said at a ceremony in Zurich that he still has a passion for the game. Not just scoring goals. according to Cristiano Ronaldo it is to entertain himself, because he has been playing football since the age of five, six. When Ronaldo takes the field, even in training, he still enjoys it and his motivation is still there. Cristiano says that even if he turns 37 soon, he feels good, he feels motivated, he has been working hard since he was 18 and continues.

Ronaldo loves this game. Cristiano still has that passion. Ronaldo wants to continue. People sometimes ask him how many more years he will play, and he says he hopes to play another four, five years. It’s all mental because Ronaldo thinks that if a person treats their body well when they need their body, it will bring it back.
