Krunic’s first-half strike opens up Milan score line before Manchester United on Loan Dalot sealed the 2-0 victory. Juventus won 3-1 Saturday to Milan gap to 1 point, but AC Milan dispatched Verona 2-0 to restore the gap.

Milan went 4 points clear of Juventus, third place, and 3 point off leaders Inter Milan. Therefore, the win exerts now pressure on leader Inter as they welcome Atlanta on Monday night.

The Rossoneri certainly enjoyed the win, and their coach Stefano Pioli revealed in the post-game.

“We showed our presence and our belief. We sent an important message,” Pioli said.

He continues to boast as a strong team despite some players missing.

We are a strong team, a great group. We are stronger when we are whole, but we are still even with players missing,” he continued.

Pioli also revealed, “We’re learning from our mistakes and working every day to improve. We are proud of our season so far, we need to think about one match at a time.

He added, “We must be concentrated on the match Thursday which will be very difficult.

“To play so often helps to process wins and defeats so you always find yourself ready. We are a team with concepts and principles, we have an identity.

He also speaks of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s impact on the team and his leadership.

“Ibra is our leader, he is a part of the team, he knows our struggles and he is close to us. He was at the last session cheering on his teammates like only a winner knows how,” he said.

“Romagnoli has handled things like an exemplary professional. Professionalism and respect should always be there. For me Romagnoli, Tomori, and Kjaer are all starters, playing every three days we need all of them.

“The goal is to play the best lineup possible according to the opponent,” he concluded.

AC Milan is traveling to Old Trafford on Thursday night for Europa’s first leg Round 16 knockout cup tier. Ibrahimovic faces his former side Manchester United should he be fit to play by Thursday.
