Jamie Carragher tells PSG coach, Pochettino to leave for United because he has to play Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe in the same team.
According to Carragher, if he were Pochettino, he would take the managerial role at Manchester United. As such, the PSG head coach is being linked up by United after Solskjaer was sacked. And, Carragher believes it would be a sensible career move for Pochettino, while Thierry Henry agreed with his fellow CBS pundit that the former Spurs coach is unable to set up his team as he wants because of Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar’s presence.
Speaking after PSG’s 2-1 defeat by Man City, Carragher said, “Pochettino has got to get out of that club”.
“If he’s got the chance to go to Manchester United, I’d be gone tomorrow. I honestly would. And it’s because of those three stars, Messi, Mbappe and Neymar”.
Also former Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry added to Carragher’s comments. He criticized Messi, Mbappe and Neymar for their lackluster performance in the Champions League clash. He said PSG has no hope of getting their hands on the European silverware if their Ligue 1 stars continue to neglect their defensive responsibilities.
“If you want to win the Champions League, you cannot defend with seven players. It is impossible. I don’t care who you are. The full-backs are exposed. So it’s virtually a three vs one, three vs two on the pitch”.
“Team that win titles and the Champions League even more so have their front three facing the ball. That way the full-backs will feel more comfortable with what’s going on behind them”.
“But right now they’re too exposed. Teams in France cannot expose them. But Man City can. Pochettino is not allowed to be Pochettino at times with that team”.
“How do you take Messi, Mbappe or Neymar off? So he put Angel Di Maria in midfield. But he was exposed. He was not helping. His hands are tied. I think he probably can do more with the Manchester United team than he can the PSG team”.
