It’s harder to win three UCL like Real Madrid did

Former Athletic Bilbao boss Javier Clemente believes Bayern Munich’s sextuple of the last couple of seasons does not match Real Madrid’s victory in the Champions League under Zinedine Zidane. On Thursday, the Bavarians picked up their sixth trophy in nine months, beating Tigres in the Club World Cup final. The journalist asked whether Bayern’s achievements were as good as Zidane’s three consecutive Champions League titles with Los Blancos. “I think it’s harder to win three Champions League like Real Madrid did than win a sextuple because we’re talking about three big titles,” Clemente told reporters.

Bayern Munich are a more powerful and strong team. Clemente, who has won the LaLiga title twice as Athletic boss, also commented on this season’s title race. “Atletico Madrid will lose and draw because they cannot win them all. But that will also happen with Barcelona and Real Madrid,” he added. “I think Sevilla are dark horses because of their quality, but I don’t know if Julen Lopetegui has a big enough lineup to win it.”
