Manchester United striker Alejandro Garnacho has seen his attitude questioned, but Mascherano says that’s not why the youngster was mocked by Argentina.

What did Mascherano say about Alejandro Garnacho?

Alejandro Garnacho continued to make his senior breakthrough with the Red Devils in the 2022-23 campaign, having previously been called up to Albiceleste’s roster back in March. The Argentina international caught the eye after scoring two goals against Manchester United but was left out of Lionel Scaloni’s plans for the 2022 World Cup final in Qatar.

There have been speculations that Alejandro didn’t cut after seeing Fernandes question his professionalism, but Javier – who is now manager of Argentina’s youth teams – insists that’s not the case, saying the first time Lionel Scaloni brought him to March, and then, when they went to Toulon, he behaved spectacularly.

According to Javier Mascherano, Alejandro Garnacho is a respectful boy. Garnacho formed a very pleasant bond with the boys who play in Argentina, although he didn’t really know them. Javier says he doesn’t really know why they say what they say, but they had a Garnacho demeanor and predisposition that was 10 out of 10. Obviously Alejandro is a great player. There is a reason why Alejandro Garnacho plays for the Red Devils at the age of 18, according to the Argentine coach.

A little about Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro has scored four goals for Argentina U20 – managed by Javier Mascherano – at the 2022 tournament in Toulon as they finished fifth in the event and has kicked at club level in the current campaign.

Instead of chasing global glory with Argentina in the Middle East, Alejandro can now focus on the hard work during the World Cup break at Old Trafford – allowing the player to see more competitive playing time under Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag in the second half of the season.
